Completing Outcome Measures

To help create an individualized TP and track your child’s progress, there are specific outcome measures to begin and continue receiving ABA services. They are due every six months and/or yearly, based on the measure. You and your child’s ABA provider should complete outcome measures together no earlier than 90 days before their due date.

TRICARE Required Outcome Measures

1. Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition (Vineland-3)

Shows how well your child can do everyday tasks in three areas: talking, daily living skills and getting along with others.

  • Ages: Birth to 90 years
  • Submission: A TRICARE-authorized providerAn authorized provider is any individual, institution/organization, or supplier that is licensed by a state, accredited by national organization, or meets other standards of the medical community, and is certified to provide benefits under TRICARE. There are two types of TRICARE-authorized providers: Network and Non-Network. DS should complete the parent, interview or teacher forms at baseline and every year

2. Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition

Shows how well your child understands and interacts with others. It looks at social skills like being aware of others, talking, thinking about social situations, wanting to be with others and having strong interests or repeating certain behaviors.

  • Ages: 2.5 to 99 years
  • Submission: Complete the Parent Form at baseline and every year

3. Pervasive Developmental Disorder Behavior Inventory

A tool to help you share information about your child’s behavior and development issues.

  • Ages: 2 to 18.5 years
  • Submission: Complete the Parent Form at baseline and every six months; Your child’s BCBA must complete the Teacher Form every six months

4. Parenting Stress Index, Fourth Edition, Short Form

Helps parents identify stress in their parenting experience.

  • Ages: 0 to 12 years
  • Submission: Complete the Short Form at baseline and every six months

5. Stress Index for Parents of Adolescents

Helps parents identify stress in their parent-adolescent experience.

  • Ages: 11 - 19 years, 11 months
  • Submission: Complete at baseline and every six months
