Getting New Prescriptions and Refills While Deployed
How To Get New Prescriptions
You can use the DPP if you didn’t register for it before you deployed or you get a new prescription in theater.
You don’t need to register first or order your initial prescription online. Here’s how it works:
- Your deployed clinic or pharmacy sends your prescription to Express Scripts.
- Express Scripts fills the prescription and sends it to you in theater. The average shipping time is three to four weeks.
- You’ll get reminder emails from Express Scripts to order refills.
How To Get Refills
Two Months Into Your Deployment
Express Scripts sends you the first email message asking you to update your account with your deployed mailing address (APO/FPO address).
To update your account:
- Go to Express Scripts.
- Log in or choose “Create an Account” to register.
- Your ID number is your complete Social Security number.
- Change your PERMANENT address to your APO/FPO address.
- Don’t input your deployed address as your TEMPORARY address
- If you don’t update your address, Express Scripts will send your prescriptions to the address provided when you registered.
Four Months Into Your Deployment
Express Scripts sends you a second email message reminding you to order your refills.
- Log in to your Express Scripts account.
- Express Scripts mails your prescriptions only after you order them.
- Express Scripts mails your prescriptions to the address listed in your account. The average shipping time is three to four weeks.
If you don’t get an email message from Express Scripts within 60 days after arriving in theater, contact the Express Scripts DPP team:
- Call 855-215-4488 (toll-free) or +1-480-804-9465 (overseas) 24/7.
- Email the Express Scripts DPP team.
