My Military Health Scheduled Virtual Visits
My Military Health Scheduled Virtual Visits are video appointments that give you the flexibility to meet with your provider at a time and place that’s convenient and comfortable for you. You may use this feature for care you get at a military hospital or clinic.
All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and speaker with a strong internet connection.
Note: If you don’t have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer, you may schedule a phone appointment.
You can schedule video visits for:
- Primary care appointments
- Specialty careSpecialized medical/surgical diagnosis, treatment, or services a primary care provider isn’t qualified to provide. follow-ups
- Treatment plan maintenance
- Prescription care management
There are two ways to schedule a video appointment. You can either:
- Log in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and send a message to your provider requesting a video appointment.
- Call our appointment line at your military hospital or clinic to request a video appointment.
Once your video visit is confirmed:
- Depending on your preferred method of communication, you’ll either get a confirmation email or a text message with the date and time of your appointment.
- 72 hours before your appointment, you'll get your session link.
- On the day of your video visit, you’ll get a link to your virtual visit 30 minutes before the appointment time. You can join up to 15 minutes before your video appointment begins.
Here are some helpful tips when joining a Scheduled Virtual Visits appointment:
- Find a private area where you can talk to your provider without distractions.
- Make sure your device has a strong and stable internet connection.
- To begin, open the session link in the text or email you received.
