Third-Party Liability

The Federal Medical Recovery Act allows TRICARE to be reimbursed for its costs of treating you if you're injured in an accident that was caused by someone else.

• Your regional contractor will send you the Statement of Personal Injury-Possible Third Party Liability (DD Form 2527) if a claim is received that appears to have third-party liability involvement.  
• You must complete and sign this form within 35 calendar days.
• Follow the directions from your regional contractor to return the form to your claims processor.

If needed, you can get a proof of insurance letter.
