TRICARE covers the following when medically necessaryTo be medically necessary means it is appropriate, reasonable, and adequate for your condition.:
- MRI with or without contrast media
- Open MRI with or without contrast media
- Breast MRI
- Magnetic resonance angiography
- Computerized tomography scans (CT scans)
- Three-dimensional (3D) rendering
- Helical (spiral) CT scans, with or without contrast enhancement
- Chest X-rays
- Diagnostic mammography to further define breast abnormalities or other problems
- Portable X-ray services
- Bone density studies for the diagnosis and monitoring of osteoporosis or osteopenia
- Multislice CT angiogram
