COVID-19 Treatment

To get care or testing for COVID-19, follow the rules of your TRICARE health plan. Call your regional contractor or your military hospital or clinic for more information.

It’s important to follow CDC guidelines to help stop the spread of COVID-19. It’s also important to identify the symptoms of COVID-19 and know when to seek help.

If you need emergency care:

  • Dial 911.
  • Go to the emergency roomThe hospital department that provides emergency services to patients who need immediate medical attention..

COVID-19 Testing

TRICARE covers medically necessaryTo be medically necessary means it is appropriate, reasonable, and adequate for your condition. COVID-19 tests when ordered by a TRICARE-authorized providerAn authorized provider is any individual, institution/organization, or supplier that is licensed by a state, accredited by national organization, or meets other standards of the medical community, and is certified to provide benefits under TRICARE. There are two types of TRICARE-authorized providers: Network and Non-Network. DS.

COVID-19 Vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for people ages 6 months and older based on individual-based decision-making. It’s especially important to get your COVID-19 vaccine if you:

  • Are age 65 or older
  • Are at high risk for severe COVID-19
  • Have never received a COVID-19 vaccine

Where To Get Your Vaccine

Check with your military hospital or clinicpharmacy, or healthcare provider for availability. They can tell you how to schedule an appointment to get the vaccine.
