I have a child who is aging out of TRICARE. Is there an exception if my child is disabled?
There may be an exception if the:
- Child can’t provide support on his or her own;
- Child depends on the sponsor for over 50% of their support;
- Child's disability occurred before turning age 21 (or age 23 if enrolled as a full-time student); and
- Child isn't married.
The sponsor’s Service determines the child's eligibility, not TRICARE. For questions, contact the sponsor's Service.
