TRICARE covers custodial careNon-skilled, personal care for basic day-to-day tasks. This includes help with eating, dressing, getting in or out of a bed or chair, moving around, and using the bathroom. in an institution or at home for seriously ill or injured service members.
Some aspects of the care may be covered for all other beneficiaries. This includes:
- Limited specific skilled nursing services (one hour per day)
- Prescription medicines and up to 12 physician visits per calendar year
- Medically necessaryTo be medically necessary means it is appropriate, reasonable, and adequate for your condition. care for inpatient care in an acute care hospital.

This list of covered services is not all inclusive. TRICARE covers services that are medically necessary and considered proven. There are special rules or limits on certain services, and some services are excluded.
