What is secure messaging?

Secure messaging lets you talk privately with your military health care team. With secure messaging, you can:

  • Ask questions and get nonemergency health care advice.
  • Request referrals.
  • Ask your doctor to renew your prescriptions.
  • To access secure messaging:

    1. Log in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
    2. Click on “Messaging" in the top option bar.
    3. Click on “Inbox” in the left-side column, and choose “Send a Message” to create a message to your primary care manager.

    4. Select “Send a Message” to create a message to your health care team.

    Yes, the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal has replaced the TRICARE Online Patient Portal as the new electronic health record. It’s being used at all military hospitals and clinics.

    You can get IT support from our 24/7 Global Service Center at 800-600-9332. If you have a Common Access Card, or CAC, you can chat or email through our online services portal.

    Important milConnect Update

    myAuth is replacing DS Logon for milConnect access. Learn more about the myAuth transition.

    Attention TRICARE Users: myAuth will roll out in phases. This began with milConnect and ID Card Office Online on May 21. Over time, all DOD applications that use DS Logon will transition to myAuth.
