Birthing Center Care

TRICARE covers authorized birthing centers—freestanding or institution-affiliated. This service is limited to low-risk pregnancies, the use of only natural childbirth procedures, and immediate newborn care. Women with high-risk pregnancies are excluded from birthing center care, as these centers don’t have the ability to manage obstetrical and neonatal emergencies.

See Maternity Care.
