Lung Cancer Screening

TRICARE covers an annual low-dose computed tomography screening if you meet the following criteria:

• 50-80 years old
• 20 pack per year history of smoking, currently smoking or have quit within the past 15 years.

You must see a TRICARE network provider for TRICARE to pay for this screening.

Screening should end when you:

• Haven’t smoked for 15 years
• Develop a health problem significantly limiting life expectancy or ability to undergo curative lung surgery.
