Hysterectomy
TRICARE covers hysterectomy procedures for:
- Treatment of disease
- Women who are about to undergo or are undergoing tamoxifen therapy
- Women who have been diagnosed with hereditary non-polyposiscolorectal cancer or are found to be carriers of HNPCC-associated mutations
TRICARE doesn’t cover hysterectomy procedures performed:
- Solely for sterilization in the absence of pathology
- Only to preserve sexual function or to prevent postoperative complications
