Body Measurement
TRICARE covers:
- For infants:
- Head circumference should be measured through 24 months.
- For children and adolescents:
- Height and weight should be measured at each primary care visit.
- Body mass index is measured using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention BMI Charts. Those with a BMI greater than the 85th percentile typically receive nutritional and physical activity counseling as part of the primary care visit.
- For adults:
- Height and weight should be measured at each primary care visit.
- Adults with a BMI of 25 or above typically receive nutritional and physical activity counseling as part of the primary care visit.
