TRICARE Retired Reserve
TRICARE Retired Reserve is a premium-based health plan for retired National Guard and Reserve members, their family members, and survivors who qualify.
Purchasing TRICARE Retired Reserve is a two-step process.
Step 1: Qualify
To qualify, you must:
- Be a member of the Retired Reserve of a Reserve Component who is qualified for a non-regular retirement under age 60.
- Not be eligible for or enrolled in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program in your own right.
Step 2: Purchase
Online
To purchase TRICARE Retired Reserve online, you must have a milConnect account.
- Log in to milConnect.
- Select “Benefits,” then “Beneficiary Web Enrollment (BWE).”
- Follow the instructions to enroll.
Tip: Don’t select FEHB if you aren’t a federal employee. Otherwise, you won’t qualify for TRICARE Reserve Retired. If you don’t qualify, you won’t be able to complete or print the form.

Don’t Just Stop Making Payments
If you don’t follow the correct steps to end your coverage and you simply stop making premium payments, your coverage is terminated. During this time, you’re still responsible for any premium amounts that are due.
Were You Involuntarily Disenrolled?
If you would like to request reconsideration of involuntary disenrollment, late initial enrollment, or late change to coverage, contact your TRICARE contractor.
