Does TRICARE cover Wegovy, Ozempic, and Mounjaro?

TRICARE covers Wegovy, Saxenda, and Zepbound for weight management if you have coverage under one of these plans:

• TRICARE Prime
• TRICARE Prime Remote
• US Family Health Plan
• TRICARE Select
• TRICARE Young Adult
• TRICARE Reserve Select
• TRICARE Retired Reserve
• Continued Health Care Benefit Program

You must:

• Meet TRICARE’s clinical criteria
• Have a prescription from a network provider. 
• Have your provider complete a prior authorization form and medical necessity (Saxenda). 

TRICARE doesn’t cover weight loss drugs for: 

• TRICARE For Life beneficiaries

• Certain other groups

You will pay 100% of the cost for your weight loss drugs even if you have an approved prior authorization.

TRICARE covers Trulicity, Ozempic, Victoza and Mounjaro to treat type 2 diabetes. You must:

• Meet TRICARE’s clinical criteria.
• Have your provider fill out prior authorization and medical necessity forms
  
  Note: Trulicity has a lower copaymentA fixed dollar amount you may pay for a covered health care service or drug.. Your provider must fill out a prior authorization form unless you have documentation for any other diabetes drug in your TRICARE pharmacy record in the last 720 days
