Join TRICARE for December 13 Webinar on Enrollment Options After TRICARE Open Season

Don’t miss your chance to make a selection during this year’s TRICARE Open Season, which ends on Dec. 10. If you do, what are your options to enroll in a TRICARE health plan after open season? Starting Jan. 1, 2019, you may only enroll in or change enrollment to TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select following a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) or during the next annual open season. To learn more, join the “Enrollment Options After TRICARE Open Season” webinar on Dec. 13, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.

The first TRICARE Open Season began on Nov. 12. Between now and Dec. 10, you can enroll in a new TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select plan if you’re eligible. You can also change your enrollment. However, if you don’t want to make any changes to your current health plan, you don’t have to do anything. Your current plan will continue as long as you remain eligible. Your plan will also continue if you have TRICARE For Life or a premium-based plan (TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve, TRICARE Young Adult, and the Continued Health Care Benefit Program). These plans offer continuous open enrollment throughout the year.

This webinar will discuss what your enrollment options are after open season, such as having a QLE. A QLE is a certain change in your life that opens a 90-day period for you to make eligible enrollment changes. Examples of QLEs are marriage, birth of a child, and retirement from active duty. A QLE for one family member means all family members may make enrollment changes during the QLE period.

Don’t miss this chance to learn more about your options if you miss the TRICARE Open Season. Register to join the Dec. 13 webinar. A Q&A led by the presenter will follow the presentation.

The Federal Benefits Open Season also ends on Dec. 10, 2018. This open season is for enrollment in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). If you’re enrolled in the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP), provided by Delta Dental, you have until Dec. 10 to enroll in FEDVIP. The TRDP ends at the end of this year. If you’re eligible for FEDVIP vision, you also have until Dec. 10 to enroll in a plan.
