Health Information Privacy and Security Compliance Committee (HIPSCC)

The HIPSCC, chaired by the Director, Defense Health Agency (DHA) Privacy and Civil Liberties Office, facilitates compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security Rules across the Military Health System (MHS). It serves as a central health resource to enhance the protection of personally identifiable information/protected health information within the MHS, and facilitates the communication of policies and best practices among DHA stakeholders. HIPSCC members include Army, Navy, and Air Force Privacy and Security officials, as well as representatives from DHA offices.

“On October 1, 2013, the Department of Defense established the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to manage the activities of the Military Health System. These activities include those previously managed by TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), which was disestablished on the same date. During the next several months, all TMA websites will change to reflect the new DHA. We appreciate your patience during this transition."
