The MCG guidelines provide clinical detail about diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in addition to general instructions about referrals and procedures. They also introduce and integrate pharmaceutical and management considerations. The guidelines define the assessment and treatment modalities that should occur at the primary care level prior to referral for specialty care and they help PCMs provide the fullest spectrum of care at the most appropriate level, while helping the MTF to conserve specialist resources. The guidelines are not intended to be used without the judgment of a qualified healthcare provider with the ability to consider each patient's individual circumstance. The guidelines are updated every one to two years or as necessary to reflect industry changes.
Access to MCG via CareWeb requires a DoD account, which provides a username and password. Access is granted only to users employed directly by the MTF and who have undergone the MHS Learn training. Either your local MTF point of contact or the designated POC at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) may provide the access information and log-on instructions to the MHS Learn training sessions.

WISDOM (M2) Course
This course provides guidance for MHS managers, data analysts and policy makers in the use of MHS data in support of management decisions and corporate goals. The Working Information Systems to Determine Optimal Management (WISDOM) course provides an overview of different types of business and information systems used by the MHS, including information systems, operational systems, corporate data warehouses and data marts as well as specific detail on available data coming from those sources and reachable through the M2 data mart.
The TRICARE Financial Management Education Program (TFMEP) courses identify the financial structures, processes and innovation that nourish a balanced integrated MHS healthcare delivery system. The basic course supplies individuals in management support roles with the insight necessary to guide and synchronize organizational decision making and covers MHS financial information and data tools. The executive course equips military medicine leaders with the concepts to navigate the current and future healthcare landscape. The course is structured to foster learning, spark dialogue and build financial skill sets applicable to the MHS environment.
“On October 1, 2013, the Department of Defense established the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to manage the activities of the Military Health System. These activities include those previously managed by TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), which was disestablished on the same date. During the next several months, all TMA websites will change to reflect the new DHA. We appreciate your patience during this transition."
