"On October 1, 2013, the Department of Defense established the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to manage the activities of the Military Health System. These activities include those previously managed by TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), which was disestablished on the same date. New Native American Contracting Courses to Help “Entity-Owned” Small Businesses

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has introduced three new online training courses on 8(a) to help entity-owned small businesses — firms that are owned by an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC), a Native Hawaiian Organization (HNO) or a Tribal Enterprise — learn what the 8(a) program does, how your business can take advantage of the program’s benefits and how to grow your business. Governor Quinn Signs Legislation to Boost Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Businesses

As part of Illinois Governor Quinn’s $31 Billion Illinois Jobs Now! Program, the governor has signed into legislation the Disadvantaged Business Revolving Loan Program. This program will enable small minority-owned businesses to obtain low-interest loans in support of construction contracts with the Illinois Department of Transportation. Good News for non- 8(a) Small Businesses

More small businesses will be able to benefit from the National Defense Authorization Act 2013 (NDAA) that was signed into law by President Obama.
