Steps to apply for an “Initial” or “Renewal” CAC for TMA Contractor Support Personnel

A CAC will only be issued when:

  • A Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions (SF85P) has been completed (hardcopy or e-QIP) and submitted to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The JPAS summary must reflect that the contractor has one of the following:

    1. Favorably adjudicated background investigation (minimum required is a NACLC)
    2. Scheduled background investigation (of at least a NACLC) with OPM
    3. Favorable Advance NAC and FBI Fingerprint check

TMA Trusted Agent (TA) will initiate applicants in the Contractor Verification System (CVS) and provide the contractor with a CVS credentials to login into CVS to apply for a CAC. The TA will convey with the applicant via email.
