HPA&E's studies team consists of masters and doctoral trained health scientists that conduct health related studies and evaluations in collaboration with other members of TMA and DoD. Studying the issues facing DoD health care requires unique training and an approach that blends standard industry research methodologies and techniques with military customs and processes. By working in conjunction with the Center for Health Care Management Studies, HPA&E supports health performance-based decision-making and improvement initiatives through the collection, analysis and dissemination of health care information. Findings from health services research inform the health care policymaking process, lead to improvements in clinical practice and help shape the manner in which health care will be delivered and paid for in the future. Many HPA&E studies lead to publication in national journals.
