The Center For Healthcare Management Studies

The Center for Health Care Management Studies was established to develop, apply and share knowledge from multiple disciplines in order to promote and protect the health of MHS beneficiaries. The center achieves this mission by designing and implementing management and health services studies to:

  • improve clinical practice
  • improve the MHS's ability to provide access to and deliver high quality and valuable health care
  • provide DoD policymakers with information needed to make evidence-based decisions concerning impact of payment and organizational changes on outcomes, quality, access, cost and use of health care

The Center seeks to identify and respond to the challenges of all those responsible for improvement of the MHS with the information they need to make evidence based decisions. The CenterÆs core responsibilities include:

  • Develop a studies agenda responsive to TMA's strategic mission
  • Develop a TMA center of excellence for management studies
  • Publish and present useful findings and noteworthy achievements
  • Implement Institutional Review Board provisions for the protection of human subjects
