State of Emergency in Colorado
Due to flooding, the Governor of Colorado has issued a State of Emergency through October 11, 2013 in the following counties:
- Clear Creek
- El Paso
The following emergency procedures for TRICARE pharmacy and medical benefits are in place through October 11, 2013.
To get an emergency refill in any of the counties listed above, take your prescription bottle to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy. To find a network pharmacy:
If possible, visit the pharmacy where the prescription was filled.
- If you use a retail chain, you can fill your prescription at another store in that chain.
- If your provider is available, he or she may call in a new prescription to any network pharmacy.
- You can request assistance at another pharmacy, but it's at that pharmacy's discretion to help you.
Emergency refill procedures are in effect through October 11, 2013.
Primary Care Manager Referral Waiver
Beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Prime Remote are normally required to have a referral from their PCM for any care provided by another physician, including urgent–or same day—care (with a few exceptions).
Because many beneficiaries may be displaced or unable to get to their PCM, the requirement to have a PCM referral has also been waived in these counties. The PCM waiver is retroactive to September 11, 2013 and in effect through October 11, 2013.
During this period of time, TRICARE Prime beneficiaries living in affected ZIP Codes may visit any provider for care without incurring additional point-of-service charges.
