Survivor Benefit Plan
The TRICARE Dental Program Survivor Benefit Plan is a voluntary dental insurance plan for family members whose sponsor died while serving on active duty. When enrolled, the government pays 100 percent of the monthly premium and family members pay the applicable cost shares for covered services.
- Surviving spouses are eligible for three years beginning on the date of the sponsor's death

If you were enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program when your sponsor died, you are automatically disenrolled and re-enrolled in the Survivor Benefit Plan.
If you were not enrolled in the TRICARE Dental Program when your sponsor died, you can enroll at any time during your period of eligibility. >>Go to Enrollment
TRICARE Retiree Dental Program
Once the three-year TRICARE Dental Program Survivor Benefit period ends, surviving spouses are eligible for the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program. The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program may also be available to surviving family members who do not qualify for the TRICARE Dental Program Survivor Benefit. >>Learn More
