Most non-prescription contraceptives, non-coital reproductive technologies and surgical sterilization reversals aren't covered

TRICARE covers the following family planning services:

TRICARE doesn't cover:

  • Condoms
  • Spermicidal foams, jellies, and sprays not requiring a prescription
  • Services and supplies related to noncoital reproductive technologies, including but not limited to:*
    • Artificial insemination (including cost related to donors and semen banks)
    • Invitro fertilization (IVF)
    • Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), in most cases
  • Male and female reversal of a surgical sterilization procedure
