TRICARE Tools: Worldwide Online Access to Worldwide Coverage

12/6/2013

TRICARE is the worldwide health care program serving active duty service members, Guard and Reserve members, retirees, family members, survivors, certain former spouses and others entitled to TRICARE benefits. However, whether a beneficiary is active duty or retired, TRICARE has the tools they need to find and compare a plan that’s best for them and their families.

To use the plan finder, go to www.tricare.mil and click on the “Find a TRICARE Plan” link. After answering a few questions, beneficiaries can see which plan or plans they qualify to use, based on their responses. The TRICARE Plan finder does not determine beneficiary eligibility for TRICARE. Eligibility is determined by the uniformed services and reported to the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).

If beneficiaries qualify for more than one plan, they can use the “Compare Plans” feature also located on the TRICARE homepage. At the center of the page is the “I want to” section featuring multiple choices for beneficiaries. Choosing the “Compare Plans” link from the homepage leads beneficiaries to a list of all the TRICARE plans where they can select plans and compare the features side-by-side.

For more information about all of TRICARE’s online tools, visit www.tricare.mil and take advantage of all the convenient services.
